A Romantic Sailcloth Tent Wedding on Jekyll Island Club’s Riverfront Lawn

Some wedding days simply flow with an effortless kind of beauty, and Izzy and Colin’s celebration at the historic Jekyll Island Club Resort was one we’ll be talking about for years to come. Every moment felt intentional, every detail was thoughtfully curated, and the entire day embraced the relaxed elegance that makes the Georgia coast so unforgettable.

The day began in the charming Sans Souci Cottage, where Izzy and Colin spent the morning getting ready surrounded by their closest family and friends. These quieter hours are some of our favorite moments to photograph. Long before the ceremony begins, the emotions are already unfolding. The excitement, anticipation, happy tears, and laughter that tell the beginning of a wedding story. Our documentary approach allows those genuine moments to unfold naturally, creating photographs that feel just as authentic decades from now as they do today.

Before seeing Colin, Izzy shared an incredibly sweet first look with her father, a moment filled with emotion that had everyone smiling through happy tears. She then revealed her wedding dress to her bridesmaids, whose joyful reactions made for some of the most candid moments of the morning.

One of the highlights of the day was Izzy and Colin’s first look beneath one of Jekyll Island’s magnificent sweeping live oak trees. Draped in Spanish moss and surrounded by the quiet beauty of the property, it was the perfect place for the two of them to slow down, soak it all in, and share a few private moments together before the celebration officially began. These intimate portraits are often some of our couples’ favorites because they allow the wedding day to pause, if only for a few minutes.

Guests gathered outside Crane Cottage in the beautiful Sunken Garden for a timeless ceremony surrounded by lush greenery and historic architecture. As vows were exchanged, the setting perfectly reflected the classic Southern charm that makes the Jekyll Island Club such an iconic wedding destination. Following the ceremony, everyone made their way into the courtyard at Crane Cottage for cocktail hour.

As the sun began to lower over the marsh, the celebration continued on the Riverfront Lawn beneath a breathtaking sailcloth tent overlooking the water. The glowing tent, sweeping marsh views, and warm coastal breeze created an unforgettable reception space that blended natural beauty with timeless luxury.

Every detail of the day came together beautifully thanks to planner Emily Burton, whose thoughtful design and seamless coordination allowed the celebration to unfold effortlessly. The stunning sailcloth tent by Select Event Group Savannah created a striking focal point for the reception, while Beachview Tent Rentals provided elegant tables, linens, and carefully selected rentals that complemented the refined coastal aesthetic. Romantic floral designs by Gray Harper added beautiful texture and softness throughout the ceremony and reception spaces, tying every detail together perfectly.

What we love most about photographing weddings like Izzy and Colin’s is that luxury isn’t just about beautiful details, it’s about creating space for genuine connection. It’s the hugs after the ceremony, the quiet smiles exchanged across the room, spontaneous laughter during toasts, grandparents on the dance floor, and those fleeting moments that can never be recreated. Those are the moments we chase with every wedding we photograph.

The Jekyll Island Club Resort continues to be one of our favorite venues because it offers an incredible variety of timeless backdrops all within one property. From the historic charm of Sans Souci Cottage and Crane Cottage to the intimate Sunken Garden, the elegant courtyard, and the breathtaking marsh views of the Riverfront Lawn, every corner offers something uniquely beautiful.

Izzy and Colin’s wedding was the perfect blend of documentary storytelling, timeless luxury, and heartfelt celebration. It was an honor to preserve every candid moment of a day that was as joyful as it was beautiful, and we couldn’t imagine a more fitting setting than the historic Jekyll Island Club.
